Terry’s Tips: Replacing a Sundance 780 Series Filter
Welcome to Terry’s Tips, where our State General Manager, Terry, shares his knowledge to help you get the most out of your at-home spa. Terry has been serving Alaskans for decades, providing expert care and guidance to generations of families across the state. As someone who knows everything there is to know about spas, saunas, and wellness in Alaska’s unique climate, he’s here to make spa ownership simple and stress-free.
Today’s tip: how to replace your filters in a Sundance® 780 Series hot tub.
Step 1: Turn Off the Power
Start at your home’s circuit breaker. Switch off power to your hot tub before you begin any maintenance. This keeps you and your equipment safe.
Step 2: Access the Filters
- Lift off the filter lid and set it aside.
- In the 780 Series, you’ll find two filters:
- A MicroClean® inner filter
- A pleated outer filter
- Both are held in place by a filter nut located on the left side of the spa (from the outside).
Step 3: Remove the Filters
- Loosen the filter nut by turning it counterclockwise.
- Slide the filters back toward the nut.
- Lift the filters up and out of the spa.
Step 4: Separate and Replace the Filters
- Twist off the gray threaded top to separate the MicroClean® filter from the pleated filter.
- Replace with new filters or clean the existing ones if appropriate.
- Thread the two pieces back together to reassemble.
Step 5: Reinstall the Filters
- Place the assembled filters back into the spa.
- Tighten the filter nut so everything is secure.
- Replace the filter lid.
- Return to your circuit breaker and restore power.
Your spa is ready to enjoy again!
